Ancient Rosemary Cracker Bread Recipe Unearthed

March 12, 2009

Throngs of users have flooded thefreshloaf.com taking down servers in attempts to extract the secret details of Jennie Menke’s Rosemary Cracker Bread recipe, which was posted in December and only recently re-discovered by relentless Fiesta Movement fans.*

“Please,” says Menke, “Don’t all click on the link at once. I love TheFreshLoaf.com and don’t want to cause them any undue stress,” adding, “I just don’t know what to do anymore. Maybe 39 followers on Twitter is just too much.”

In order to save a lot of baking heartache, she has posted detailed directions via video, taking viewers through the recipe, step-by-step. Printed Recipe.

Thank you SO much for the croccantini recipe! I made it tonight and it was not traumatic. I found rosemary in my garden and borrowed a pasta roller. I used some unbleached flour I had in my pantry – I’ll go buy some fresh stuff tomorrow. I’m going to serve them with my pepper jelly and cream cheese. Here’s a pic of my crackers: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=4287192&l=433b56f72c&id=540863126

I just watched your baguette instructions and I can’t wait to try that too! Thanks for making the instructional vid’s! Keep ’em up.

glad you liked it! I wasn’t able to see your photo though… They are DELICIOUS with pepper jelly and cream cheese. Another quick recipe which I like for summer is about 1/4-1/2 c pesto sauce mixed with one tub of light cream cheese, then topped with toasted pine nuts. AMAZING!

Let me know if you try the baguettes. They are the BEST!

Hey there, I was reading your article and I just wanted to say thank you for putting out such great content. There is so much junk on the internet these days its difficult to find anything worthwhile. I actually have cooked this recipe before, I got this book last month on recommendation from a friend http://ninjahq.com/go/cookingrecipes and it turned out quite nice! I’m extremely eager to try your variation of it though, it looks excellent. I think you might enjoy those recipes, they’re very good. Thanks for the article and tips.

Really? I’ve never seen a recipe like this one! You’ll have to let me know if you try it and if it works for you. Now that fall is here, I’m starting to get a hankerin’ for them again.

About Me

Jen menke

I’m a mostly-retired, pretend graphics and web developer (but don’t judge my skillz by THIS site!). We sold our dream home in Watertown, MN and downsized to a “Villa” in Excelsior, MN and built a home in our dream location of Eagle, CO and now split our time between the two states. It is truly a dichotomous life of absentee gardening and getting together with friends & family while in MN and playing hard and hermitting while in CO. I’ve let the blog go but a trip to Alaska has me resurrecting the Road Warriors series. My beloved brother is my biggest fan and I am doing this just for him.
